How Men and Women Choose Computers
Among my friends I am obviously the techy guy that everybody goes to for asking questions on what to purchase when it comes to electronics. DVD players, TVs, laptops, cameras, etc.
This time I had some people asking me what computer to buy - between a Windows laptop and a Macbook.
Max : Male, 20 years old
Max : What should I get? I’ve been using Windows all my life but recently I got into the macs at my university and I’m thinking of getting one myself.
Jeff : Well, Macs have a drag-and-drop type of interface, just bloody simple. But for me it felt too slow to do everything that way, not to mention it didn’t run Illustrator and Photoshop that fast. I find better value with a Windows laptop with a memory upgrade.
Max : But I do like the virus-free aspect. Spyware and trojans are just a hassle on Windows.
Jeff : You’re right… (goes on for another few minutes with technical talk)
Sinzy : Female, 17 years old
Sinzy : Should I get a Windows laptop or a Macbook?
Jeff : Eh, you’ve been using Windows all your life, and you’re not very techy. To learn a whole new system will be frustrating, not to mention they’re double the cost. For your university needs which are typing papers and surfing internet and using messenger, a $700 Windows laptop with a 15.4 ” screen will do just fine.
Sinzy : awwwww, but the Macbooks are white and pretty

There it is ladies and gentlemen. Sinzy got a bit upset at me for now making her feel guilty for wanting the pretty white laptop, as she couldn’t justify it anymore after asking me. She says she wishes she hadn’t asked me.
That’s the difference that testosterone and estrogen brings to us.
Jeff, you should have mentioned the Sony Vaio laptops to Sinzy. I bought one recently at London Drugs and its looks and performs great. I needed a laptop running XP and they had the VGN-N130G on clearance for under a grand. Looks pretty like a Mac too. Best of both worlds buddy. There is also a model running Vista. See Jeff, there’s always aa third option.
i hate to admit it, but it’s mostly true. lol only bc guys are more technically inclined than women. my roomie bought a macbook bc she likes the “cute tapping” noise it makes when i type on mine.
i bought mine for more technical reasons tho…
it’s kind of like comparing shopping. most guys don’t care what labels they wear, women are just more in tuned with fashion. then once in awhile you’ll find the super metro guy that knows all about every trend.
2000% true, reminds me the day when I wanted to buy a new cell phone, I asked a Guy which one to buy Nokia N73, or Sony Erricson.. He says Nseries. Girl says Sony coz they are cute, and panel colour is super cute.. I said it n73 got much better features.. she says what will I do with the features..
The difference that testosterone and estrogen bring to us can have a great affection in our behavior and progress especially in gender?
