Re-Designing Everything

Right now, as you can see in the other sections of my website, I’m re-designing everything on my site. It will be a much cooler site that is easier for me to update later. I will reveal and explain the CSS code and what not later as a tutorial.

This new website incorporates a lot of CSS tricks I learned through Wordpress, and will be a hell of a lot better than the last design which took me very short time.

Awesome, I love the semi-transparent header.

Except it doesn’t work in IE 6.x… But it could. Just check for IE and use JavaScript to position it instead of CSS if the browser is IE, and use one of the filter CSS properties to properly render the transparent PNG.

Sorry, Im developing those and I need to keep them up for testing until I am done..

btw if youre going to criticize something, have the balls to show who you are. You are from vancouver, i know that much - with an IP starting with 24. and you used Shawcable as your IPS when you came here.

Sweet! When you going to do some wordpress themes? I’m sure you’d get a lot of downloads and a lot of links as well.

You know Jeff, if you’re wondering how effective this blog is just know that I could think of no other to design a website for me. The power of blogging baby!

This looks really good, Jeff! Much easier to navigate. And the ads ARE NOT that bad.

hah yeah the ads arent that bad.. i plan on using them ONLY when i review a specific item, because the ad design allows you to enter a PID that retrieves only that.. OR you can enter keyword (sony, digital camera, lcd) and it randomly retrieves one item.

Once I`m done testing they`ll decrease in frequency.

Also, the MyBlogLog profile images overlap the header in FireFox.

I checked it - the My Blog Log code spits out the X icon (the one that shows upon hover) in z-index:999, and my header was set to z-index 5, which I thought would be enoough. Had to change it to 1000 and now it’s good!

I wonder tho, it didn’t do that in IE, but just in Firefox. W3 standards cap the z-index limit at a certain opint, that 999 actually counts as a default, but I guess Firefox was very lenient about it? I’m not sure.

I love the transparency effect in your header - making that work is all about subtlety so well done!
