A woman died trying to hold her piss
Shocking, yet it’s hard for me to have pity for stupidity. She did it for a Nintendo Wii. The original article can be found here.
If you are a mother of 3 with tremendous responsibilities and had to succumb to stupid physical stunts doing something really moronic (and without sense of accomplishment) to your body and croaked, you needed a better life. Sounds like a contest a poor college student with a healthy body would enter. It’s a video game console. You probably should have just saved up money if you wanted to get it for your kids. That’s what a real mother does.
You don’t drink 3 gallons of water and die from water-intoxication. In fact, I didn’t even know that could be self-induced. Usually it comes from Hypothermia, if you’re stranded in a snowstorm on the Himalayas (and that is a physical venture with much more meaning than drinking water and holding your piss). Who would have thought anybody can do something so stupid to such an extreme degree? Desperation stinks. No, in this case, it was wet and bloated.
So her kids now I have a brand new Nintendo Wii (assuming she won… well, she’s dead. She can’t piss), and do not have a mother. A real tragedy for the kids. I hope the Nintendo cheers them up a bit at least…

I’m not a doctor, hence I don’t keep a tab of every single possibility of sickness. And also I’m not desperate enough to win freebies by drinking water and not pissing.
That was a moronic and self-satisfied blog. You’ve essentially taken a tragedy that happened through poor judgement and well-meaning and victimized a dead mother who was creatively trying to find a way to win something fun for her kids.

Eh. I have great talent to find humour and enjoyment out of every part in life. Anybody desperate enough to do degrading physical stunts in exchange for petty prizes and cash takes the risk of being ridiculed. What I would do is just buy the damned thing for my kids. If I’m incapable of making that kind of money, well. I hope I don’t degrade to that level ever in my life.

This was not funny, just the sad, unnecessary death of someone who trusted the wrong people, and a lazy blogger who gave this entry all of five seconds thought. I submit that you have at least PARTIALLY failed on this occasion. Black humor, by definition, requires humor. It is, of course, still possible you found enjoyment in it.
Still, I respect you for putting yourself out there to be viewed and judged. Hopefully, other entries have been more successful than this one.
I found it funny that some people are desperate and pathetic enough to do these things.
One of the greatest advertisements I found in my neighbourhood was this :
It has a plate with some bugs in it - a disgusting image - and it says underneath, “get a down payment for your condo.. without degrading yourself on reality TV”. People that have to go through such things to try to win $40,000 are hilarious enough. A woman doing teh above for a $400 game console is even funnier. Stupid people are funny to those who are more intelligent with dignity. It’s a given, just like how we all laughed at the video on “America’s Funniest Home Videos” where the dog tries to carry in a long stick into his doghouse while holding it lengthwise, because we all know that by turning the stick 90 degrees to slide it in the door in a perpendicular angle yet the dog cannot figure it out.
